About Carrie
Welcome to My Hundred Pounds!
My name is Carrie Kish and I am clinically 120 pounds overweight. My current goal is to lose exactly 100 pounds. I have started a very strict, very structured eating plan and I am fast on my way. I have started this blog as a place to document my journey, get support, invite others to join me in giving and receiving support, and for fun. Shoot, I’m not eating much now and that used to take up a lot of my time, energy and attention. I am using blogging to replace food in my life. I am making a public declaration, right here on the internet and I invite you all to follow along and play along if you are so inclined. What I am already learning is that this isn’t just a weight problem and it’s not really about the food. There’s a lot more going on here. It is my intention for this blog to give you a place to look for motivation or inspiration whether your issue is weight, food, alcohol, sugar, relationships or anything else.
My Personal Life
I have been married for 21 years. Steve and I are fabulous together, even when we’re not. I am looking forward to the next 21 years with him as we get even better at this relationship called marriage. We have four boys; they are 18, 14, 11 and 10. I will talk about my family plenty because they are very involved in my life, we spend a lot of time eating together and they are my favorite people on the planet. We live in Valencia, California which is about 40 miles north of Los Angeles. We have two dogs. I am a great cook and a horrible housekeeper.
I enjoy working with the teens at my church where I teach Confirmation. I love being Catholic and I love being in relationship with God. I believe that we are all on a spiritual journey and I have great respect for whatever path you are on and wherever you happen to be on it.
My Professional Life
It is my purpose in life to grow people. I do this in my personal life, in my volunteer work and in my professional work. I am a really good life coach. There’s more about that here on this site and over at Do It Like a Girl! I am a board member of The Betty Ferguson Foundation whose mission is to train, develop and empower women and girls in the Santa Clarita Valley. I am on the board of The International Coach Federation, Los Angeles. I am the Marketing Coordinator for The Women Entrepreneurs of Santa Clarita Valley.
